Nokia Branding for Smartphones in Europe are dead

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded smartphones, has entered a new era. Earlier this year, HMD announced its decision to drop Nokia branding for smartphones, opting for its own HMD-branded devices instead.

While Nokia-branded smartphones, feature phones, and tablets were still available in recent months, supplies have reportedly dried up in Europe. That means there were no demands of Nokia phones and the company was at a loss manufacturing them. However, Nokia devices remain listed on HMD’s storefronts in:

  • Asia
  • Africa and the Middle East
  • Australia and New Zealand
  • Latin America

But for how long? We anticipate availability in these regions will soon follow Europe’s lead.

Software Support Continues (For Now)

HMD’s support page still features Nokia smartphones and feature phones, indicating ongoing software support. However, the duration of this support remains uncertain.
