Samsung’s upcoming entry-level smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A16 4G and A16 5G, are expected to launch in December. Recent leaks have revealed comprehensive spec sheets for both devices, confirming their similarities and differences.
Let’s look at the major differences that we will see in Samsung Galaxy A16 4G and 5G devices.
Key Similarities:
- 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display (FHD+ 90Hz)
- Triple camera setup:
- 50MP main camera
- 5MP ultrawide lens
- 2MP macro module
- 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging
- 4GB RAM and 128GB storage (expandable via microSD)
- Up to 6 years of Android updates and security patches
The screen size and the display will not have any changes. Same goes to the camera both the smartphones will offer triple camera setup. The lens used will be same in both the devices. The battery too remain the same. Both smartphones will come with the same 4GB RAM and 128 Gb of storage that can be extended further. Samsung promises 6 yrs of Android updates for both the smartphones.
Now let’s look at the difference in the chipset that both the smartphones will tag along when launched.
Chipset Differences:
- Galaxy A16 5G (Europe): Samsung Exynos 1330 SoC
- Galaxy A16 5G (South East Asia): MediaTek Dimensity 6300
- Galaxy A16 4G: MediaTek Helio G99
Both the smartphones will have a different chipset as it is to have a 4G and 5G a chipset. The 4G variant is to be the helio G99 by Mediatek which is a decent processor.
The 5G variant will have two different chipset which is not a surprise as samaung has been doing this with their flagship processors too. A variant will come with the Samsung Exynos 1300 Soc which will be released in the Europe region.The other variant will be released in the South East Asia which will support the Mediatek Dimensity 6300 which we have seen a lot in midrange smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy A16 4G will have a lower pricing as it is a 4G device and the 5G variant to be a bit costlier . The 5G variant will cost you €30 more than the A16 4G variant.
